Physiotherapy Process at Healthcare on Collins
Initial Appointment
Initial physiotherapy assessments are of 45 minutes duration and will involve your physiotherapist fully assessing your condition.
Once a diagnosis is made, your physiotherapist will work with you to develop an appropriate treatment plan taking into account your lifestyle, training and general health.
Exercise Prescription
Exercises may be prescribed for you to do between treatment sessions.
A follow up with an exercise physiologist, myotherapist or remedial massage therapist may be suggested as part of an integrated program.
Review Appointments
Review appointments are either of 30 or 45-minute duration depending on your condition. Throughout your treatment your physiotherapist will continually evaluate your progress and modify treatment where necessary.
For any new injury that is sustained or new problem that occurs, a 45 minute consultation may again be required to allow for a full assessment to be conducted, diagnosis made and treatment plan developed.
If you have not seen your physiotherapist for two months, even if it is for the same injury, a 45-minute review appointment may again be required for a reassessment to take place.

A referral is not required to see a physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy consultations may be covered under your private health insurance. Please check with your private insurer to see if you are covered for part payment of your consultations. Please ensure you bring your membership card to your appointment if this applies to you.
Should you have a chronic health condition for which physiotherapy would be of benefit, you may qualify for a rebate under a Medicare Team Care Arrangement. Please consult your general practitioner if this applies to you.
