Our History

Healthcare on Collins is a unique Medical Centre where Health Professionals share premises and administration staff to offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services under the one roof. Healthcare on Collins is simply the union of Midtown Medical Centre, The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre and Melbourne Specialists on Collins enabling us to provide the best care possible to patients. In reality, very little has changed as the directors, management and the administration personnel remain the same.
The General Practice services (formerly known as Midtown Medical Clinic) include General Medicine, Adult and Childcare, Health Checks, Care Plans, Travel Medicine, Immunisation and more specialised areas such as CASA Medicals, Diving Medicals, Mental Health Care and Women’s Health including Pregnancy Care. (Read more). All services are supported by a highly skilled team of experienced nurses.

Sports Medicine Services (formerly known as the The Melbourne Sports Medicine Centre) are provided by practitioners who have many years of training and experience in the management of all types of sports people ranging from the weekend social player to the elite professional. There is also a fully equipped Rehabilitation Gymnasium on-site, where individual and group rehabilitation is conducted under the supervision of Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists. As we are situated in the Melbourne CBD, Occupational Health and Wellness is also a strong focus of all of the clinicians in both the General Practice and Allied Health areas.

Allied Health Services include Dietetics, Sports Dietetics, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Myotherapy, Podiatry and more. At Healthcare on Collins, we believe that close collaboration between Practitioners working in the different areas of health can offer a more holistic approach to patient care. We understand that patient confidentiality is paramount and is maintained by secure in-house electronic messaging between clinicians. Any discussions between Practitioners regarding patients are conducted in rooms with prior patient approval.

Medical Specialists on Collins is another of the facilities at Healthcare on Collins where a  comprehensive range of specialists consult in our Collins Street rooms (Read more). The consulting General Practitioners work closely with the Specialists to achieve optimal health outcomes and wellbeing their patients.
