Cams Licence Medical

If you are planning to drive racing vehicles, you will need to undergo a CAMS (Confederation of Australia Motor Sports) Medical to ensure you are fit for the task. Here at Healthcare on Collins, several Practitioners can conduct them.

The Confederation of Australia Motor Sports regulates who can hold a Motorsport Australia Competition Licence. An assessment is conducted to assess the health of the individual and their fitness to compete.

These medicals are about the safety of the drivers, their competitors, the support teams and the spectators.

Should you be looking to get behind the wheel and want to take the next step, then you can download the necessary paperwork from the motorsport.org.au website and book a 30-minute appointment with one of our Practice Nurses, followed by 30 minutes with an General Practitioner. (https://motorsport.org.au/licence/medical)

The CAMS Medical is a requirement in the decision to issue a licence to compete but does not guarantee the obtention of this licence.

The Medical will cover your cardiovascular system (you will have an ECG during your visit), your respiratory system, your abdomen, your locomotor system, ENT system, visual system (including colour vision: Ishihara test). It will also include a urine test. These tests are standards and the Medical team will be able to complete the form your need on the day, so no time is wasted in your application process.

The cost of the CAMS Medical is $275.00 (exc. GST), which is payable on the day and is not eligible for a rebate through Medicare. If you have any questions or would like to book a CAMS Medical, please contact us at (03) 9650 4284. This appointment type cannot be booked via HotDoc as you will need to see both the Practice Nurse and one of the Doctors conducting these medicals in consecutive appointment times.
