Mental Health
Looking after your health includes not only your physical wellbeing but also your mental and emotional wellbeing.
The global pandemic has shown us just how important our mental health, and that of those we care most about, is. Mental health can affect every aspect of our lives, such as the way we think, how we feel, our relationships, work and study.
Access to a competent and compassionate general practitioner is crucial if you’re looking for effective management of your mental health or that of a loved one. Several of the GPs who consult at Healthcare on Collins have additional training in the management of mental health disorders and are dedicated to providing the care you need. Mental health disorders can remain relatively undetected, which is why it is important to consider them in your routine health checks.
In the event that you require additional support, general practitioners can also provide referrals to psychologists or psychiatrists. They are knowledgeable about the Medicare subsidised Mental Health Treatment Plans and will advise you if you are eligible for them.
For initial mental health consultations, a 30-minute appointment is required so that your practitioner can fully assess your needs. The GPs at Healthcare on Collins believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental healthcare and we are committed to supporting you in your journey towards mental health wellness.
We understand that matters such as mental healthcare can be very sensitive and our friendly and supportive administration staff always seek to manage any inquiries with the utmost respect. Please feel free to contact us directly on (03) 9650 4284 and our staff will schedule an appointment with the practitioner that will best suit your needs.
