Appointments

At Healthcare on Collins, consultations are by appointment only.

When booking an appointment please let the administration staff know which practitioner would prefer to see and they will do their best to organise this for you.

Consultations are typically available between 7.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am and 12pm on Saturday.

Standard GP appointments are of 15 minutes duration however we do recommend you make a 30 minute appointment if you:

  • Wish to discuss several issues during the one appointment
  • Have a sports injury or a musculoskeletal problem
  • Wish to discuss women’s health issues such as cervical screening, pregnancy or post natal care
    require a full check up
  • Have a mental health matter or mental health care plan to discuss

If you do need to spend longer than planned with one of the doctors we will do our best to accommodate this. This may mean that from time to time your doctor might run behind.

The administration and support staff will endeavour to advise you via SMS or phone call prior to your appointment if your practitioner is running behind.  You may also telephone 30 minutes before your appointment to ascertain if the doctor is running to schedule.

If you don’t hear from us your punctual attendance will be greatly appreciated!

Please remember, if you have an urgent medical problem, or cold, flu or infectious symptoms please let the reception staff know when you call or attend. We will do our best to see you as soon as possible.

To ensure quality and safety of care, the doctors do prefer to have a consultation with you rather than liaise via telephone messages or email.

If you have any concerns about this or believe a consultation is not required, please ask to speak to one of the practice managers.

Please note, the cost of your consultation does depend on the length of time you spend with your practitioner. If your consultation does go for longer than initially planned, the cost may be higher, as will the Medicare rebate you receive. You can read more about the fees and Medicare rebates here.

To make an appointment to see one of the doctors, please call us or book online. If you can’t see an online appointment that suits, please phone us. The administrative staff will endeavour to find a suitable appointment time for you.
